Quote Upload Overview
PerfectQuote supports underwritten medical and ancillary quote files and other plan-related documents (e.g., Summary of Benefits and Coverage, SBCs) through its proprietary software, incorporating adaptive machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) principles into the quote mapping process.
Additionally, PerfectQuote is able to support certain ACA/small group carrier age rated and composite rated quote files.
Contact PerfectQuote Customer Support (support@perfectquote.io) for a list of currently supported ACA/small group files.
Carrier files can. be uploaded via PerfectQuote's quote upload and processing wizard, including files from over 100 different carriers and issuers, hundreds of different carrier quote file presentation formats and structures, and dozens of unique benefit fields.
Carrier quote files are generally obtained directly from the carrier representative or, in the case of ACA/small group, a carrier's quoting platform.
Quote File Requirements
If a file is uploaded and ultimately rejected by the quote upload wizard, the PerfectQuote data management team reviews the file and determines if the file is one that can be supported. In order for a file to be supported it must:
- Be in Word (.doc and .docx), PDF (.pdf) or Excel (.xls and .xlsx) file formats
- Be from a currently supported carrier or a carrier that can be supported
- Contain both benefits and rates for any of the following products: Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life, Voluntary Life, Short Term Disability and Long Term Disability.
- Have an effective year that is either the current year, current year - 1 year, or current year + 1 year.
Quote files are rejected if they are:
- A PDF in a non-readable format. To verify, right click on the PDF document and select the "Select Tool" option. Generally, scanned copies are non-readable.
- A plan summary.
- Only contain benefits or rates.
- A carrier renewal letter.
The timing to support a carrier quote file depends on the following:
- Is the quote file from a new or existing carrier?
- Is the quote file new or requiers some modification of an existing quote file structure that is already supported?
- Complexity of the quote file.
- Volume of other carrier quote files currently being worked on by the PerfectQuote support team.
PerfectQuote has a service level support goal of reviewing and releasing a supported carrier file within 7 to 10 business days.
Any user that submits a carrier file that is rejected is notified once the quote file is supported.
Please share files with support@perfectquote.io.
Getting the Most Out of Quote Uploads
Here are some some ways to use the Quote Upload to your advantage.
Because the system will reveal the lines of coverage it found within the document, rather than opening the document and immediately needing to search through it, you can drop the documents into the Quote Uploads and see if there are any glaring omissions in lines of coverage. If you see one missing, at that point you can check the document to see if there was a DTQ or it was truly a miss from the carrier.
Once you've confirmed that lines of coverage are all quoted, you can hop over to the Renewal Plans page and do a quick scan to make sure the benefits you requested were accurately quoted. This can also save you time if your previous process required you to scan through every page of a document searching to confirm benefits. If you notice any misquotes, you can quickly go back to that document and ask for a requote.
