In order to connect your PerfectQuote Firm instance to BenefitPoint, log in as a Firm Admin and navigate to FIRM SETTINGS > INTEGRATIONS.
- Tap the "Edit" button in the lower right corner.
- Select the "BenefitPoint" checkbox
- Select the BenefitPoint Environment to connect to. Most likely:
- "Production" in order to send real plans.
- "Preview2" or "UAT" for testing (depending on whether or not your firm has been given access to a non-production BenefitPoint environment).
- Set the "Commissions Paid By Carrier" based on how your firm handles commissions carriers. When sending plans to BenefitPoint as renewals, the renewal plan's Commissions Carrier can either be set to:
- Match the prior year plan's Commissions Carrier (more commonly used).
- Match the issuing carrier of the renewal plan.
- NOTE: procedures may vary based on how your organization tracks commissions in BenefitPoint. Please check with your internal BenefitPoint Admin to confirm.
- Within your BenefitPoint carrier settings, if you have carriers that are only allowed as Commissions Carriers (ie - they are not active as primary issuing carriers), then please make sure that this checkbox below is checked. This will allow you to send plans to BenefitPoint as new plans, using commissions carriers that are only allowed as Commissions Carriers.
- Enter your BenefitPoint username and password.
- Note: this must be a webservices account set to the necessary permissions for PerfectQuote access. Please check with your BenefitPoint implementation specialist to set these permissions.
- Tap the "Save" button.
After a few seconds of exchanging data, your PerfectQuote Firm will be connected to your BenefitPoint Brokerage instance!
Next, please see this article on carrier mapping and have your PerfectQuote and BenefitPoint admins map carriers as needed between PerfectQuote and BenefitPoint.
1. For each PerfectQuote carrier that your team works with, ensure the matching carrier on the right side represents the correct carrier naming variation your team uses in BenefitPoint.
2. You can search and browse to update carriers as needed, if the existing carrier is not the correct version.
