Creating new groups

  • Updated

To create a new Employer Group, follow the steps below:

1. From the Employer Groups view, click "New Group" in the upper right of the screen

2. Fill out all required fields, marked with * :

  • Group Name
  • Group Main Address - select the matching address from the suggestions provided. Addresses must be valid USPS deliverable addresses.
  • SIC Code - search and select from the dropdown. If SIC code is unknown you can enter/select 9999, but this can affect the return of carriers and/or plans generated by our quoting tool.
  • Number Of Benefit Eligible Employees - an approximate estimate here is fine.
  • Renewal Date - month/day format. Effective dates for census and manually created plans will default to this date, but can be adjusted as needed. See below for screenshot of where this new data point will appear on your firm's Employer Groups view.
  • EIN/Tax ID Number- Where the EIN is not immediately available, a placeholder number can be used.
  • Account Number - will be automatically generated, but you can edit manually if desired. Please ensure all group account numbers are unique.

3. At the bottom of the page, you'll see the Firm User Access section, which allows you to restrict access to this group to specific users in your firm.

By default all users in your firm will have access, but to adjust this, click on Restrict User Access, and either search by the user's name or deselect them in the list below. Click Apply to save your changes.

Note: Firm Admins and Firm Reviewers will automatically have access to all Employer Groups.

4. Click "Save" in the bottom right corner of the screen.

Importing Groups

During your organization's initial PerfectQuote onboarding, if you have elected to provide your group info, then those groups will be uploaded into the system within 3-5 business days.

If you are using our BenefitPoint integration, you can also import BenefitPoint Accounts to create PerfectQuote employer groups. For more information, please see our "Importing BenefitPoint Accounts" article.
